Harvest

September 19, 2008 · Posted in Uncategorized

While we do whittle all year, we get most of our orders for canoes (as the name suggests, we specialize in LARGE canoes) in the summertime. There is a long process to find the “right” wood for each project. Once we have located the wood, we need to find a way to transport it to our whittling facility located in northern Minnesota. When the wood arrives it can take four to six months to whittle a canoe, depending on the size. All whittling is done by hand. It is worth mentioning, we are not limited to just canoes. We are willing to whittle anything. One client had us whittle kitchen cabinets.

We are currently in the “harvest” phase of most projects. We are locating the wood which will be whittled all winter for a finished product in the spring.
